Krome Technologies is proud to celebrate our 15th anniversary, marking a journey of remarkable growth, client-focused innovation, and an unwavering commitment to quality and trust.
Having initially built the services division of a hardware business in 2007, our management team completed a buyout in 2009, laying the foundation of today’s company with a team of just 22 employees, working out of modest rented offices in Walton-on-Thames.
Over the past 15 years, we’ve transformed from these humble beginnings into an IT solutions provider approaching £25 million in revenue, with 131 dedicated staff and offices across the UK, Europe, and the United States. Known for our technical expertise and reliability, we’ve earned the trust of leading brands worldwide by delivering IT solutions that support and elevate their business goals.
Our Journey of Expansion and Success
Our journey officially began on November 1, 2009, with a small but skilled team and a first-year turnover of £6.4 million. By 2011, we had outgrown our Walton-on-Thames office and moved to larger premises in Addlestone, along with a satellite facility in Manchester, to support our expanding workforce. By Year 3, our commitment to high-quality, tailored IT solutions drove our turnover up by an impressive 40% to £11.2 million. During these early years, we secured crucial industry accreditations, achieving HP Gold and Dell Premier Partner status, affirming our position as a trusted partner in the competitive IT landscape.
As we continued to grow, excellence remained at the core of what we do. By 2016, we earned the prestigious Microsoft Gold Certification, distinguishing ourselves further through a rigorous assessment process that validated our technical expertise. That same year, our commitment to quality and innovation was recognised by a Storage Virtualisation and Cloud (SVC) Award. In 2017, we solidified our industry position by achieving Dell Platinum Partner status and ISO 9001 certification, underscoring our dedication to high standards in quality management and client service.

In 2018, responding to growing demand, we expanded our UK presence by acquiring a larger office in Manchester and establishing a dedicated team in Edinburgh focused on the financial sector. Shortly afterwards, we further strengthened our UK operations by purchasing a new, much larger headquarters in Chertsey, Surrey, enabling us to better accommodate our expanding team and client base.
Our resilience was especially evident during the challenges of 2020, a year that tested businesses worldwide. Despite the pandemic, we achieved a remarkable 15% growth in turnover, reaching £18.3 million, driven by increased demand for managed services and cloud-based solutions.
In 2021, we reinforced our commitment to security and quality by achieving the ISO 27001 Security Standard, underscoring our dedication to safeguarding client data. Furthering our commitment to forward-thinking practices, we joined the Tech Zero Taskforce in early 2022, pledging to enhance operational efficiency and reduce our environmental impact.
In June 2022, we reached another milestone by achieving Microsoft Direct CSP (Cloud Solution Provider) status, allowing us to directly purchase and manage Microsoft products for our clients, overseeing the entire customer lifecycle from billing to support. This achievement supports our growth in managed services and strengthens our role as an end-to-end IT solutions provider.
Recognising the need for continuous support and security, we launched 24×7 operations in 2022, establishing a fully staffed Security Operations Centre (SOC), Network Operations Centre (NOC), and helpdesk services at our Chertsey headquarters. This move has been instrumental in supporting our managed services growth, enabling us to attract and retain clients who rely on uninterrupted IT services and robust cybersecurity.
Global Reach and Expansion
Over the past 15 years, we’ve grown from a single-office operation to a global entity with international reach. Following strong demand for our services in Europe, we opened a formal office in the Netherlands, Krome Technologies BV, in 2022. Our first year saw Krome BV reach €1.3 million in turnover, a testament to the demand for our expertise and readiness to serve clients across Europe.
In 2023, we expanded further, opening Krome Technologies LLC in North America to serve clients across the U.S. states, including Florida, California, Texas, New York, and New Jersey, to better support clients with international operations.

Beyond financial growth and global expansion, we’ve received industry recognition for our contributions to the technology sector. In 2024, our dedication to knowledge-sharing was acknowledged with a Gold Viddy Award for our “Tech IT Out” podcast, which informs listeners on the latest IT trends. We were also recently shortlisted for “Reseller of the Year” in the £20m+ category at the 2024 Stockies awards. Our commitment to maintaining high standards was reinforced with our ISO 27001:2022 certification, underscoring our dedication to robust information security practices.

At the end of September, just before the end of British summertime, we celebrated our 15-year journey with an incredible team event—KromeFest! We transformed the occasion into our very own festival, complete with live music, fire performers, dancers, face painting, and all the excitement of a true festival experience. It was a fantastic evening for everyone, filled with fun and appreciation as we celebrated our achievements together. Our team is at the heart of everything we do, and without each and every one of them, none of our success over the past 15 years would have been possible.
